6. How we share data

We do not sell your personal data.

We may share your data in the following situations:

With other Ventura users

Information you choose to make visible may be shown to other users, such as founders, investors, operators, mentors, or ecosystem members. For example, investors may see startup profiles and pitch materials, while founders may see investor profiles or interaction requests.

These providers may process data only as needed to provide services to Ventura.

We may disclose data if required to:

  • Comply with law
  • Respond to legal requests
  • Protect Ventura's rights
  • Prevent fraud or security threats
  • Investigate misuse of the platform
  • Protect users or the public

Business transfers

If Ventura is involved in a merger, acquisition, investment, restructuring, or sale of assets, user data may be transferred as part of that transaction.

7. Payments

If Ventura offers paid subscriptions, premium features, verification, or other paid services, payment information may be processed by third-party payment providers.

Ventura does not store full card details unless clearly stated. Payment providers may collect billing information, payment method details, transaction history, and related data according to their own privacy policies.

8. Cookies and analytics

Ventura may use cookies and similar technologies to:

  • Keep users logged in
  • Remember preferences
  • Improve security
  • Measure platform performance
  • Understand user behaviour
  • Improve recommendations and product features
  • Support marketing, where allowed

Necessary cookies are used to make the platform work. Optional analytics or marketing cookies are used only where required consent has been given.

You can manage cookies through your browser settings or through any cookie consent tools provided on the platform.

9. Data retention

We keep personal data only as long as necessary for the purposes described in this Privacy Policy. For example:

  • Account data is kept while your account is active.
  • Startup and profile content is kept while published or stored in your account.
  • Messages and platform activity may be kept to provide the service, ensure safety, and resolve disputes.
  • Verification records may be kept for security and compliance purposes.
  • Legal, billing, and transaction records may be kept where required by law.

When data is no longer needed, we delete it, anonymise it, or securely archive it.

10. Your rights

To exercise your rights, contact us at help@venturafund.eu

If you are located in Finland or the EU, you may also contact your local data protection authority. In Finland, this is the Office of the Data Protection Ombudsman.

11. Account deletion

You may request to delete your account by contacting us or using account deletion tools if available.

After account deletion, we may remove or anonymise your profile, startup content, messages, and activity data, unless we need to keep certain information for legal, security, fraud prevention, or legitimate business reasons.

Some public interactions, such as comments or content already shared with other users, may remain visible in anonymised or limited form where technically or legally necessary.

12. Security

We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect personal data from unauthorised access, loss, misuse, alteration, or disclosure.

These measures may include encryption, access controls, secure infrastructure, authentication systems, monitoring, and internal security procedures.

However, no online platform is completely secure. Users should protect their account credentials and avoid sharing highly confidential information unless they understand the risks.

13. International data transfers

Ventura may use service providers located in different countries. This means personal data may be processed outside your country or outside the European Economic Area.

Where required, we use appropriate safeguards, such as contractual protections or other legally recognised transfer mechanisms.

14. Marketing communications

We may send you updates about Ventura, including product news, platform updates, events, opportunities, and relevant announcements.

You can unsubscribe from marketing emails at any time by using the unsubscribe link or contacting us directly.

We may still send important service, security, legal, or account-related messages even if you unsubscribe from marketing communications.

15. Minors

Ventura is not intended for children. Users must be old enough to use online services and provide valid consent under the laws of their country.

If we learn that we have collected personal data from a child without proper consent, we will take reasonable steps to delete it.

16. Confidentiality of startup materials

Ventura is a discovery platform, not a legal confidentiality service. Uploading pitch decks, pitch videos, startup ideas, business plans, or other materials does not automatically create a non-disclosure agreement between you and other users.

Founders should carefully decide what to share. Investors and other users are expected to respect platform rules, but Ventura cannot guarantee that shared information will remain confidential once accessed by another user.

For highly sensitive information, users should consider using separate legal agreements before disclosure.

17. Automated recommendations and matching

Ventura may use algorithms, filters, or recommendation systems to show relevant startups, founders, investors, and content.

These systems may use information such as profile data, interests, activity, industry, stage, geography, saved content, and interaction history.

Recommendations are designed to improve discovery but do not guarantee investment, partnership, funding, or business outcomes.

18. Changes to this Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make significant changes, we may notify users by email, platform notice, or another appropriate method.

The latest version will always be available on this page.
